    How I move my body during my follicular phase 💛🏋🏻‍♀️ During your follicular phase, your hormones, especially estrogen and testosterone, being to rise so that means your energy and mood are rising as well. Due to my hormones still rising (after plummeting during my menstrual phase) I still focus on physical (and mental obviously) stress management so in terms of weightlifting, I like to do: - Medium weight - 8-10 reps - Slow and controlled movements (great time to focus on mind to muscle connection and proper form) - Long rest periods between each set (about 2-3 minutes or when my heart comes down to normal) Other movements that are great during this phase: - Low impact and low to medium intensity cardio (jogging, fast walking, swimming, dancing, etc.) - Hot yoga/pilates Also, for the rest of this series I will be showing the EXACT glute workout during each phase so stay tuned to see how I do this workout during my ovulation phase (aka my FAV phase obviously) Glute workout: - 8-10x3 RDLS - 8-10 Wide Stance Leg Press - 8-10 Hip Abductions - 8-10 Single Leg Kickbacks Head to the link in my profile to get the Jumpstart Your Journey guide.     I honestly don’t have a name for this meal (feel free to help your girl out 😆) but this chicken pasta is a staple in the Beland household 🤤 Not only does it require minimal ingredients and so quick/easy to make, but it is high in protein! Ingredients: - one whole rotisserie chicken shredded - brown rice & quinoa pasta (this type of pasta has more protein but feel free to use your fav pasta of choice) - 8.5 oz sun dried tomatoes in olive oil (I love the trader joes one) - 2-3 diced zucchinis - one medium chopped onion - 3 minced garlic cloves - crushed red pepper flakes - black pepper (optional) Directions: - Cook pasta al dente in a pot (according to package directions) - Sauté garlic, onions, and zucchini - Mix in shredded chicken, whole jar of sun dried tomatoes, and red pepper flakes - Cook on low/medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir/mix frequently - Mix with cooked pasta - Top with more red pepper flakes (if you like spiciness) and parmesan and serve!

      Hi! You’re so kind! So I’m personally not vegetarian as well as not a registered dietitian so I can’t give you an exact meal plan but some plant proteins to consider are lentils, quinoa, legumes, nuts, tofu, chickpeas, and chia seeds. Hope that helps!

    How I move my body during my menstrual phase 🧘🏻‍♀️❤️ Day 1 of period: complete REST Day 2-3 of period: light yoga/pilates and walking Last day period: very light weightlifting with long rest periods During the menstrual phase (aka your period), ALL your hormones are tanking and your body is going through a crazy internal process (aka shedding of the uterine lining) so REST and NOURISHMENT is essential during this phase. Your body is also WAY more sensitive to stress so in terms of movement it is best to do low intensity and low impact movements/workouts, such as walking, light yoga, and light pilates. Adding more stress (so doing heavy weightlifting or HIIT workouts) to your body can do more harm than good in terms of hormonal balance. High cortisol levels are shown to cause water retention, inability to lose fat, acne, hair loss, and more. Since learning about my body as a woman and supporting it through food and lifestyle changes, I can honestly say I don’t mind my period at all (and that is saying A LOT coming from someone who you used to have debilitating painful periods and hated every second) 😌 Check out my UA-cam video titled “How I Honor and Nurture My Body During My Menstrual Phase” or head to the link in my profile to get the Jumpstart Your Journey guide.     In honor of National Get Outdoors Day, here are some ways being outdoors positively affects your health as a whole: ☀️ Sunlight generates vitamin D and can help support your circadian rhythm (PMID: 22629085 & PMID: 31534436) Vitamin D is essential for bone health and mental health while your circadian rhythm is essential for sleep quality and quantity 🐤 Listening to wild bird chirps have shown to make people happier for up to 8 hours (study conducted by King’s College London) 🌱 Grounding (or earthing) has shown to decrease inflammation within the body and calm the nervous system (PMID: 25848315) High inflammation within the body can lead to hormonal imbalances which can lead to skin issues, hair issues, water retention, gut issues, and more. 🌊 Being near a body of water has shown to put people in a mildly meditative state (blue mind theory).

    I have this stomach gut issue for 5 years now .sometimes I'll be in pain so much that I want to cry .no matter what I try will never work .I try to take probiotic but it seems to aggravate my symptoms.I try to fast at night for 12 hours window it also seems to aggravate my symptoms .I just dont know what to do anymore .It really affect my mental and my life .Lost and given up😢

    I will forever shout from the rooftops how focusing on my health as a whole (aka more holistic) has truly changed my life. I know the whole “wellness influencer”, “holistic hottie”, “crunchy community”, etc. is “trendy” but I believe it is because more and more people are realizing the power of holistic health and wellness 🌱✨ What started it for me was painful periods which conventional doctors just kept prescribing birth control to “fix” it but really it did way more harm than good on my health. And that led me to coming off the pill, balancing my hormones through diet and lifestyle changes, and working on my health as a whole. Today, I truly feel and look healthier than ever before simply by investing in myself through proper nourishment, supplements, lifestyle changes, continuously educating myself, boundaries, and more. Seriously life changing 💛
